The City of East Providence requested streetscape improvements for this busy, highly traveled corridor. The design team of DCSA and Pare Engineering worked with the City to provide a palette of hardscape and softscape features. While ultimately budget concerns prevented some of the design elements from being implemented, these illustrations impart the flavor for this high visibility streetscape.
Located on the corner of Howard Avenue and Route 2, this project was identified as a high hazard intersection by The Rhode Island Department of Transportation. DCSA and Fuss and O’Neill Engineers, Inc. designed a gateway entry at the signalized intersection to direct motorists to the Pastore Complex. Since the implementation of this project, the area has grown to include many additional government buildings making it a hub of activity for Rhode Island residents from across the state.
